Spot On: #CodeCable #VOR70 #Maserati by Armare.
(UK) Due to the technical collaboration with the italian skipper Giovanni #Soldini, Armare Ropes has developed with North Sails Italy a Code Cable for the new sail A 3.5 currently in use on VOR70 Maserati.
The cable is made with PBO/Zylon® to get the most of the mechanical properties together with the lower weight possile; the cable is 32 meters long and has a maximum working load of 8 tons.
Armare’s technicians have worked long in the development of this cable to find the perfect balance between the torque moment (to ensure excellent performance in terms of transmission of torque) and stiffness (to allow for panning and convenient stowage of the cable). The product has responded well to the first test and is now used in racing in the most extreme sailing conditions.
The Code Cable, shorter than the sail luff, is connected to the tack plate of the sail with a Dyneforce rope lashing that enables the linking between cable and drum, allowing a perfect and separate control of the cable sag together with a precise adjustment of the sail.
Armare has developed a wide range of Code Cables and Top Down in PBO/Zylon®, Kevlar® or Dyneema® for various types of sails, applications and yachts of any size.

(IT) Grazie alla collaborazione tecnica con lo skipper Giovanni Soldini, Armare Ropes ha sviluppato assieme a North Sails Italia un Code Cable per la nuova vela A 3.5 attualmente in utilizzo sul VOR70 Maserati.
Il cavo è stato realizzato in PBO/Zylon® per ottenere il massimo delle caratteristiche meccaniche unitamente al minore peso possile; il cavo è lungo 32 metri e vanta un massimo carico di lavoro di 8 tonnellate.
I tecnici Armare hanno lavorato a lungo nello sviluppo di questo cavo, per trovare il perfetto equilibrio tra coppia torcitiva (per garantire eccellenti prestazioni in termini di trasmissione di coppia) e rigidità (per consentire un brandeggio e stivaggio comodo del cavo); il prodotto ha risposto ottimamente ai primi test ed è ora impiegato in regata nelle condizioni di navigazione più estreme.
Il Code Cable, realizzato più corto dell’inferitura, è collegato alla tack plate della vela con una legatura in Dyneforce che consente di accoppiare cavo e tamburo tenendo separate le tensioni di cavo e vela, consentendo un perfetto controllo della catenaria unitamente ad una precisa regolazione della vela.
Armare ha sviluppato un’ampia gamma di Code Cable e Top Down in PBO/Zylon®, Kevlar® o Dyneema® per svariati tipi di vele, applicazioni e imbarcazioni di qualsiasi grandezza.
