The fifth medal more valuable than the blue expedition to Japan comes from sailing, with the historic triumph of Tita-Banti in the Nacra 17 class. Italy returns to the podium of the discipline 13 years.

The Tokyo Olympic Games continue to give us great emotions, the latest in chronological order is the victory of Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti in the Nacra 17 flying catamaran class. A historic result for Italian sailing, which returns to the podium of the discipline 13 years after the two medals in Beijing and 21 after Alessandra Sensini’s gold in windsurfing in Sydney.
Now is the time for these two splendid athletes, who have dominated the Nacra 17 class in the last four years, with three European golds and one world gold and today they enter the legend of Italian sailing by winning the fourth gold in Italian history, as well as the first medal in a mixed competition.
