Last night, after tearing up the spinnaker, Alessandro was forced to climb up the mast with almost 30 knots of wind and a rough sea, succeeding in about two hours to free the pen.
Because of the rough sea he has beaten several times here and there during the operation on the mast but overall everything was resolved well.
Unfortunately, on Sunday night we received a new message from Alessandro, more worrying. During a break, the boat is leaning a first time on the left side, in pace with mainsail and solent.
Alessandro came out to put the helm in water and fix things when accidentally jibe did it to crash head-on.
The budget is not comforting: a small cut on his face that required a steril-strip and a broken or cracked rib. Unfortunately the maneuver flew the spinnaker that was in the small cockpit in the water, so the sail has been lost. Now the challenge will be to continue, despite the sharp pain in the rib.
Contacted by phone this morning, Alessandro for the moment seeks to recover and rest, being already very tried for two trips on the mast without rest for 48 hours.
Despite the pain and fatigue, for the moment, Alessandro keeps his morale high.
